Tech N9ne Says Road Helps A Lot (Video)
Tech N9ne, who is featured on the new single from D12's Bizarre called "Believer" (which you can listen to below), recently sat down to talk about how he isn't really a house hold name but thanks to touring so much, he's been able to sell over a million albums and build such a huge, solid and of course, dedicated fanbase. Tech, who is getting ready to drop his new "The Ollie Gates Mixed Plate" album, talked about unvonventional road he took to get back to the top. "Being involved in all of those major labels in the past, nobody knew really how to do me, how to put me," Tech said. "But who knows how to do me better than anybody: me."
Along with his business manager Travis O'Guin, the two formed an independent "Strange Music" label back in 99' and since have been able to pretty much whatever they want in he music game. Touring to places where no one knew who he was, Tech N9ne would start by playing to only 10 people and slowly built his way up to 200+ people in the audience.
"If you want to be the hip-hop president, you've got to get out there and politic," reasoned the rapper who won the Left Field Woodie Award from mtvU last year. Doing around 200+ shows a year, all the money they make goes back into the Strange Music label and the two have been able to build a $1.2 million dollar facility in Kansas City.
"We have that core fanbase that's always going to be there, so whether we put out CDs, whether it's going to be on iTunes or whatever, our fans are always going to be there," Tech N9ne said. "A lot of these major cats don't even have that. A lot of these major cats have sold over a million copies, but can't get 1,000 people to come see them. ... That ain't for us, though."

Snoops KiD CuDi Video Is Like Romper Room
Snoop Dogg recently talked about KiD CuDi and their collaboration video "That Tree." Produced by Diplo, the song will be featured on Snoop's upcoming "More Malice" album and features snoop trading verses with KiD CuDi about their favorite smoke filled past-time. Snoop says the new video is like "Romper Room," the childrens television series known for its orgaznized-yet-free-for-all shows.
"It's kind of hard to explain," Snoop told MTV News about the concept. "It's like 'Romper Room.' It's kiddish. It's really fun. Me and him like to have fun, so we wanted the video to depict that. It's not a real serious video. There's no champagne room. There's no money being thrown or a bunch of girls. It's just me and him having a good time."
